The words of my Lord are life-transforming, destiny-giving and truth-revealing

Every word of God is tested;
He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him (Proverbs 30:6).

I honestly do not know where I would be or the kind of life I would be living if I did not know and believe the Word of God. For me, learning and knowing His words has been and still is a matter of life and death. I really do not know how to live and exist apart from the Word of my Lord. I have mentally tried to picture myself living without His revelation, and must confess that every time I have done that little experiment it has been troubling to say the least. I honestly don’t know how to live without the Bible. His words have become for me, life (John 6:63), and I don’t just mean biological, physical life, I am referring to true, spiritual life with meaning, purpose and trajectory.

His words have transformed my inner and outer man. They have caused me to go from sin-lover to sin-hater, from righteousness-hater to righteousness-lover. His words have given me definitive, defined and specific destiny. I have no more doubt what the course of my existence is or where I am going because I know that my life is hidden and secured in Christ Jesus, and He is my destiny. Lastly, His words have expelled the darkness that blinded me to the truth of God. I can now say with all confidence: I know God through Jesus the Messiah. All these things have happened to me due to His words. That’s why I can testify that the Bible is not a fairy tale book. It is the living book (Hebrews 4:12).

The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether. They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward (Psalm 19:7-11).
