“What is a woman?” (Popular question in America nowadays).
Adam is one of the Hebrew words that the Bible uses for man/men. It is actually the first word employed in the Bible to describe this special creation of God that it is man. Adam is connected to Adamah, which means ground, according to Strong’s Lexicon. What a word to characterize what the physical component of Man is! Common, insignificant, fragile, but important, amazing and with much potential. Biblical translators have given this word-adam-many more contemporary meanings, just as mankind, humanity and human beings. In this post, I am using this word in this general way to refer to the entire race of humans.
It has always been the tendency of adam to be wise in his own eyes. As a matter of fact, the first Adam and his wife, Eve, decided that their wisdom was better and more equipped to understand life and find meaning than God’s. Since their fall and subsequent expulsion from the presence of Yahweh, the sons of adam have rejected God’s wisdom and ways and have trusted in their own, resulting in a history filled with violence, pain, loss and misery. The Bible, interesting enough, gives us so many examples of this, not only from the people who rejected God altogether, but also from those who supposedly trusted in the Lord and were called by His name, namely, Israel. The visible church of Christ Jesus has also done this evil in His eyes at times throughout the ages.
For a time in the West, nations seemed content to follow God’s wisdom for life’s troubles and misunderstandings. It is my opinion that these nations started rejecting these postures with the advent of modern science. Not that science has proven the nonexistence of the Divine; if anything, true modern science continues to declare the glory of God, just like the heavens and the firmament do (Psalm 19:1). But it seems that people and their nations thought that science was able to answer all of our questions and give us the meaning we craved so much that they rejected altogether the wisdom of God. I was not alive at the time, but from what I gathered from the literature, during the hippies times there was a great focus to trust in what scientists were discovering about the creation, specially about our bodies. I have read much about how the mainstream discourse was bent on disputing the existence of God and our dependence on Him for everything, and instead, it was teaching everyone to rely on scientific facts. Years later, namely 2025, it seems that most people have even rejected science completely. Scientists, doctors, politicians, and the great minds of the world are so confused now that they don’t even know what a woman is, or at least, they don’t want make a stand for what they know to be true based on scientific discoveries of what a woman is for the sake of supporting and pleasing the new religion: the LGBTQ through Z religion.
Several biblical passages come to mind: “…Professing to be wise, they became fools.” (Romans 1:22), ”they exchanged the truth of God for a lie” (Romans 1:25), ”for the wisdom of this world is folly with God.” (1 Corinthian 3:19) and “…the Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile” (1 Corinthian 3:20). All of these Scriptures speak about this issue: adam thinking himself to be wise and in no need of God’s wisdom, therefore, adam becomes a fool and his plans are frustrated and end in spiritual disaster. It is fascinating to realize that history repeats itself. People rejected God, relying on science, and thought themselves to be wise, but now the same people reject science revealing that they have always been fools because no one who does not live by the Word of the Lord can truly be wise. On the contrary, Scripture tells us that ” if anyone … thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise” (1 Corinthians 3:18). Basically, in order to find real, eternal, divine wisdom and knowledge, we all must reject the wisdom of the world and receive the wisdom of the God of heaven, that ‘… is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere” (James 3:17). No wonder that the first charter of the book of Romans ends with God rejecting all those who reject Him.

The Lord by wisdom founded the earth,
by understanding He established the heavens" (Proverbs 3:19)
